Event rider Michael Jung has announced he will no longer compete his Olympic horse La Biosthetique Sam at major International Eventing Championships. The now 17-year-old has won just about everything that could be won, including two individual Olympic gold medals at the London and Rio Games.
Last week, the German rider had to withdraw from the CCI4 * Pau, just before the dressage phase as La Biosthetique Sam was not completely fit.
The Stan the Man descendant has collected one medal after another over his glittering career. At the age of seven he won silver won at the World Cup for young eventing horses. Later he added three Olympic gold medals - two won by the pair in the individual standings, one in the team competition
Undoubtably a major key to Jung success is his excellent horse management and with Fischer Rocana, Fischer Takinou and Lennox, he has a trio of highly talented horses in the stable all capable of ensuring he stays at the top.
