Team GB's Young Rider squad have made an impressive start to their 2017 campaign at the European Championships in Millstreet, Ireland, holding the gold medal position after the first day of competition.
Leading in the team standings – by just 0.1 penalties over the Germans - the GB Young Rider team have enjoyed a successful start to their competition. Second to go for the team, Alex Kennedy and her own 12 year old gelding Lissangle Cavaletto B head the Brits and the overall placings in first place on a score of 41.3 penalties.
First out for GB this afternoon, Katie Bleloch and the 11 year old Bulano set the team up with another sub-50 score to sit in 10th place on 48.3 penalties. The final combination in action today for GB was Individual rider Libby Seed and the British bred stallion Philanderer II, owned by Mrs Carolyn Bates, who scored 52.2 penalties to complete today’s dressage in 19th place.
First into the arena later today will be individual rider for Great Britain Lizzie Braugh (Quarry Man) at 1.15pm, followed by team rider Felicity Collins (Vicky Collins and Avrina Milton’s RHS Contend Or), with Sam Ecroyd (Penelope Ecroyd’s Tullaher Sunrise) wrapping things up in the dressage phase for the British team.
