The Festival of British Eventing, presented by the British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA),and held at Gatcombe Park near Minchinhampton in Gloucestershire from 7th to 9th August,2015 is a great opportunity to immerse yourself in the very best the sport of eventing has to offer.
Competitors of the highest calibre will battle it out for British Eventing Open Championship, Smith & Williamson British Intermediate Championship, The TopSpec Challenge for The Corinthian Cup, a National Restricted Novice Championship and Dodson & Horrell British Novice Championship.
The adrenaline-filled cross country course, designed by Captain Mark Phillips, takes centre stage during the weekend, with no better place to watch the action than the Park Bowl.
With the water complex in the valley below, the undulating course unfolds in front of you, providing the perfect viewing spot and picnic location.
The main arena hosts the showjumping phase and then transforms to feature family entertainment. Sunday crowd favourites include; the Dressage To Music display, the Parade of Duke of Beaufort’s Hounds and the always greatly anticipated Shetland Pony Grand National.
This year will also welcome for the first time, the Kangaroo Kid (aka Matt Coulter), who will perform daredevil stunts on four wheels rather than four legs.
Beyond the main arena are avenues of quality shops where you can purchase everything you or your horse could possibly desire, not to mention the unique, handmade gifts in the rural craft tent.
For a picnic lunch you may like to visit The Festival Food Walk where you will find cuisine from around the world as well as local treats for you to enjoy.
