More than 1,000 horse and rider combinations will be heading to Wiltshire this week for the St. James’s Place Wealth Management Barbury International Horse Trials.
Set in 1,850 acres of rolling countryside just outside Marlborough, the event takes place from Thursday, July 9 to Sunday, July 12 and features some of the world's top riders.
The pretigious CIC*** competition will come to a spectacular close on Sunday with the cross country phase, following dressage and showjumping on the previous days and running in reverse order of placing. Novice, CIC** and British Showjumping classes will also be contested over the four days.
Visitors will be able to browse more than 50 trade stands offering a range of items including fashion, arts and crafts and equestrian products.
Former champion National Hunt jockey AP McCoy will ride for the first time in public since his retirement in the JCB Champions Challenge on Saturday.
Nigel Bunter, chairman of the Barbury International Horse Trials, said: "The event site at Barbury is set up and ready and we are looking forward to hopefully another great four days this week.
"We believe Barbury offers the first timer an exceptional experience, with excellent viewing of the cross-country and an opportunity to really get to know the sport of eventing and we look forward to welcoming everyone."
Tickets are priced at £15 (Friday) and £20 Saturday and Sunday on the gate with no charge for car parking. Children under 12-years-old go free. For information and tickets visit the website www.barburyhorsetrials.co.uk or call 01672 516125
