Top royal equestrian Zara Tindall – formerly Zara Phillips – is pregnant with her second child just over a year after a tragic miscarriage on Christmas Eve, 2016.
Currently the Tindalls are on a working holiday Down Under in Australia with their two-year-old daughter Mia but a spokeswoman for the couple said: "I can confirm Zara is pregnant with her second child."
Zara, daughter of the Princess Royal and Mark Phillips, is married to Mike Tindall who spent his club career playing rugby in the West Country for Bath and Gloucester.
Zara, 36, and Mike, 39, married in 2011. Their child, believed to be due in the summer, will be a second cousin to Prince George and Princess Charlotte, Zara is also one of George's godmothers.
Zara will now be able to swap pregnancy tips with 'cousin-in-law' Kate Middleton, after the Duchess of Cambridge announced in September that she was expecting her third child.
It is thought that Kate and Zara are quite close, with Zara gushing about the Duchess of Cambridge shortly after she married into the Royal family.
Mrs Tindall, an Olympic medal winner and former world eventing champion, will step back from her riding career until the baby has arrived.
She will continue to carry out other work, including her commitments as patron of Magic Millions Racing Women, an initiative promoting racehorse ownership amongst women, on Australia’s Gold Dust in this weekend.
The news comes in a remarkably busy year for the Royal Family, with two babies due, the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Prince of Wales’ 70th birthday, and the Queen’s Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in London.
