Michael Jung is Top German Eventer 2015

Michael Jung have successfully defended his position as Germany’s top event rider in 2015.

The three-time individual and team European eventing champion topped the rankings with 51 390 points ahead of his two teammates Ingrid Klimke and Sandra Auffarth.

In 2015 Jung has had impressive form over the last 12 months, including winning the Rolex Kentucky CCI4* with FischerRocana FST.  At the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials, the German fell at Fence Four chipping a bone in his ankle. However he went on to win the title with his longtime partner La Biosthetique Sam FBW, and completed a hat-trick of individual European titles at the FEI Longines European Eventing Championships at Blair Castle with FischerTakinou.

He also won the six year old championships at Le Lion D’Angers with FisherIncantas and finished the year with second place at Les Etoiles De Pau CCI4* with his Kentucky winning ride FischerRocana FST.  He has also been having much success in the Show Jumping ring.

Ingrid Klimke was the winner of the FEI Classics having won at Pau in 2014 with Horseware Hale Bob and Luhmühlen with FRH Escada JS. She also finished second on Horseware Hale Bob at Badminton. Klimke has enjoyed one of her most successful seasons in 2015 and has been a key member of the German Eventing team since 1999. As well as being part of the winning German team at Blair Castle, Ingrid was also fifth individually.

Also a part of the victorious German team at the European Championships, Sandra Auffarth was also individual silver medalist with Opgun Louvo, the horse with whom she won the individual World Equestrian Games title in 2014.

In fourth place in the rankings was Andreas Dibowski with European team champion Dirk Schrade in fifth and Peter Thomsen in sixth. Germany’s youngest ever CCI4* winner Niklas Bschorer rounded out the Top 10.
