For a second year in a row Sam Ecroyd will be taking home the 2017 Goldman Cup League for the leading under 21 rider. With 262 BE Points, Sam claimed the prestigious Cup by just three points over second placed Emily King and 16 points ahead of Bubby Upton in third.

Helped by his win at The St James’s Place Barbury International CIC2* and first and second place at the Tattersall International CCI2* under 25 class in Ireland, Sam once again joins an illustrious list of previous recipients such as Judy Bradwall (four consecutive years), Lucinda Green, Ginny Leng, William Fox-Pitt, Pippa Nolan (now Funnel) and Oliver Townend.

Winner in 2015, Emily King couldn’t quite catch Sam despite a fantastic season which included a second place in the Equi-Trek Blair Castle CCI2* and Barefoot Eastates Burnham Market International CIC2*, but stayed ahead of 2017 Junior European Champion, Bubby Upton, who clinched third place on 246 points.

Presentation of the Cup will be made at the BE Awards lunch in January 2018
