Victoria Pendleton back in the saddle after Cheltenham heroics

Victoria Pendleton will be back in action in the point-to-point sphere on Saturday, while her Cheltenham partner Pacha Du Polder is being prepared for a crack at the Crabbie’s Fox Hunters’ Chase at Aintree, in which jockey Will Biddick believes the nine-year-old has “a right shout” following his festival heroics.

Biddick finished half a length ahead of Pendleton and Pacha Du Polder in the Foxhunter at Cheltenham when partnering the Rose Loxton-trained Current Event.

“Pacha was my ride for Cheltenham until Betfair got involved,” said Biddick. “Looking at the re-run of the race, the way Pacha finished, I don’t think he would have had a hard race. Knowing the way he handled Aintree and the performance he put up last year, he’s a good one to be on.”

Pendleton herself will be back in action aboard According To Sarah for Alan and Lawney Hill in the Kimblewick Hunt members’ race tomorrow, near Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire.

“Victoria was delighted with the way everything went at Cheltenham and she is very much looking forward to riding on Easter Saturday at Kimble,” said Lawney Hill.

“She is then going to have a little break for a couple of weeks and is hoping to return when she gets back from holiday. I think she got smitten very quickly and she loves the whole amateur sport of point-to-pointing.”
