memory foam built into the seat which is in doeskin/suede as are

secure ride! The wide, load spreading panels are leather
covered, not the serge found on most St. Merryns. It has the
Alton & Butler holistic tree patented by the saddle's maker
Barrie Swain. The St. Merryn is becoming quite rare now and

you have a narrow, slim, high withered horse? Lovely English
leather saddle 18". Used but still lots of life and cleans
up a treat!! This narrow saddle is unfortunately too snug for my
New Forest. Width 8 1/2 inches measured across the front IN LINE
with the lower front studs (no d-rings) but only 6 inches
inside, the front of the saddle up to the pommel is high so
ideal for a slimmer high withered horse. This is a general
purpose saddle with plain leather panels. Overall it is in
lovely condition, seat area and cantle perfect, in fact the
leather looks like it has never been sat on though the
underneath is "older", some evidence of a repair - may
have been reflocked, one other small tear also right under top
of flap, does not show when in use and could be repaired. One
stirrup keeper missing. Some little marks on underside but
otherwise a super everyday saddle and an absolute bargain! Tree
sound, girth straps fine, no girth guards. If you are struggling
to fit your horse! at this price it is worth a try. £45
