Guy Williams was denied victory by the narrowest of margins in Dunkerque, France, just 0.01 sec preventing him from taking the top spot.
Nineteen of 51 contended the jump-off of the 1.40m with Guy claiming two chances. But despite setting out probable favourite, one hundredth of a sec prevented a win on long-term campaigner Casper De Muze, France’s Nicolas Tison on Uzelle D’Arthenay claiming victory.
Guy also slotted Thais D’La Verriere into third a further 0.21 sec in arrears. Steven Franks took fifth on the 19-year-old Carlow Cruiser and Rose Moss was also double clear on Carlos F for 14th.
Ronnie Jones raced ahead in the 1.20m to take victory with Realt Na Carraig, the Lux Z 13-year-old recording the win with 1.44 sec to spare.
Graham Babes slotted the eight-year-old mare Candela VH Slagershof Z into sixth and Sven Hadley jumped into seventh on the former Laura Renwick ride Wood Stock De Breve. Dan Delsart took 11th with Drumin Jacko and also double clear was Nathan Bull on Jolly Jumper Van Euverbraeke and Ben Clark’s Lanverdel for 15th and 18th respectively.
