Little Downham Horse Trials is pleased to announce its support for Hannah’s Willberry Wonder Pony Charity and The Wobbleberry Challenge for their final British Eventing fixture of the 2017 season. Having already donated over £7,000 to the East Anglian Air Ambulance, this season the event will continue their charity support to the much loved Willberry Charity.
The event, run over three days, will play host to an official Wobbleberry Challenge section on Saturday 30th September, that has already received close to 100 entries for the BE80(T) class, with a large proportion being challenge participants.
Thanks to the generosity of the event’s corporate sponsors and the private donation from Jen and Jan Le Miere, long-time volunteers at Little Downham Horse Trials, the event can offer additional prizes for the Wobbleberry competitors and will make prize money donations to their own fundraising pages.
"We are delighted that the organisers of Little Downham, and their generous sponsors, have done so much to support the challenge. When this all started (initially as a small local idea) this was the event that we were targeting. It was Tina's support that encouraged us to move forward with an idea that has now raised over £210,000 for Hannah's Willberry Wonder Pony charity. So many people were inspired by Hannah's bravery, and have worked so hard on this challenge - we are so grateful that Little Downham are helping to celebrate this, and raise yet more funds. For those that are not quite ready for this season, this is a great way to encourage them all to continue working and fund raising, helping #kickingcancersbutt." – Sally Barr, Wobbleberry Challenge Founder
#InspiredbyHannah flooded social media for very good reason. Hannah Francis inspired thousands of people she never met, and achieved so much in her tragically short life. The challenge aims to raise money for the amazing charity she set up, Willberry Wonder Pony.
The event is pleased to have been asked to be an event as which Challenge Completion rosettes will be presented. The event will host upwards of 100 Wobbleberry Challenge competitors for a special prize giving and celebration afternoon tea.
“We are incredibly honoured to be able to support the Wobbleberry Challenge and in turn Hannah’s Willberry Wonder Pony Charity in this way, and recognise the achievements of both those competing and of Hannah herself in leaving this incredibly inspiring legacy. We wish all of those competing the very best of luck and look forward to celebrating your achievements with you.” – Tina Ure, Event Organiser.
The October event also plays host to the final leg of the 2017 Protexin Equine Premium Grassroots Accumulator, that will award a BE90 or BE100 competitor an end of season bonus of over £400. The fixture is already attracting a bumper entry and offers every class from BE80(T) to Advanced, across the three day fixture.
