British Eventing League Tables Update To End of July

A look at the BE point tables and leagues at the end of July. 


Britannia 3* League

There is no change to the Britannia 3* League in July, as Will Furlong and Collien P 2 hold on to their lead with 141 points and their 41 point advantage over Gina Ruck and Rehy Too, who sit in second place in the table on 100 points. Alicia Hawker and Robert Hawker's Charles RR also maintain their third place in the league on 90 points.

Calver Wealth Management 2* League

Following their win in the CIC2* at the St James’s Place Barbury International in early July, Sam Ecroyd and his own The Quiet Man move up to the top of the 2* league on a total of 44 points. This drops the previous joint leaders: Felicity Collins on Ms Vicky Collins and Mrs Avrina Milton’s RSH Contend Or, and Rosalind Canter with Mrs Michele Saul’s No Excuses, into joint second place on 40 points each.

Gatehouse 1* League

The new Junior European Champion, Bubby Upton, keeps the celebrations going at the end of July as she maintains her lead in the Gatehouse 1* League on her Championship ride Eros DHI, owned by Mrs Rachel Upton, on a total of 17 points. There is also no change to second and third place with Adam Harvey and Picasso V staying on 15 points for second and the 2017 Pony European silver medallist, Saffie Osborne, holding third on 14 points with Lord and Lady Blyth’s Little Indian Feather.

BE Top Riders

Increasing his points total to 1,231, Oliver Townend makes it five months out of five at the top of the BE Points Table, with Andrew Nicholson (NZL) and Izzy Taylor also holding on to their second and third positions on 785 and 716 points respectively.

BE Top Horses

A change at the top of the horse’s points table in July sees Mrs Jo Lambert and Mr James Lambert’s Bulana move to the number one spot on 217 points, helped by her third place at the Aston-Le-Walls Advanced, ridden by Nicola Wilson. Mrs Trisha Rickards, Mrs Nigella Hall and Mr Tim Price’s Xavier Faer drop to second in the table on 212 points, with Mrs Deborah Sellar’s Nereo (ridden by Andrew Nicholson) moving up to third after his second place in the St James’s Place Barbury International leg of the Event Rider Masters helped him to a July total of 209 points.

The Goldman Cup

Sam Ecroyd increases his points total this month to 169 in the Goldman Cup, thanks to his win in section E of the Barbury International CIC2*. Emily King now occupies second place following her win in section D of the CIC2* at Barbury International, assisting her to a total of 131, and Felicity Collins moves down to third on 115 points.

Foundations Points Top Rider

Nicola Wilson still reigns supreme at the top of the Foundation Points table, now on a total of 421 points she extends her lead over second place Kitty King who is on 272 points. Wills Oakden also holds on to his third position this month increasing his tally to a total of 266.

Foundation Points Top Horse

There is just one change to the top three of the Foundation Points Top Horse table at the end of July. Sophia Icke’s Think Tank Think remains in first place on 126 points and Adam Harvey’s Don Diego II in second on 122, Karen Maurice’s 10 year old mare Panache II now takes the third spot with 111 points after four top five placings, including two wins, in July at BE100 and BE100 Plus level.

Mitsubishi Motors Cup Rider League (For riders earning Foundation Points based on their eligibility for the BE90 and BE100 Mitsubishi Motors Cup at Badminton)

Samantha Jimmison shoots up to the top of the Mitsubishi Motors Cup Rider League this month following a brilliant July which saw her securing nine top five, and a further six, top ten placings to give her a Foundations Points total of 152. Laura Ridout also moves up the table this month to take second on 142 points helped by eight top ten results this month, and the June point’s leader, Alyson Parker, moves down in to third position on 135 points.

Mitsubishi Motors Cup Horse League (For horses earning Foundation Points based on their eligibility for the BE90 and BE100 Mitsubishi Motors Cup at Badminton)

With 126 Foundation Points, Think Tank Think, owned by Sophia Icke, is still at the top of the Mitsubishi Motors Cup Horse League at the end of July. After a fantastic month, Karen Maurice’s Panache II moves up to second place on 111 Foundation Points to go ahead of JJ Malone (owned by Alyson Parker) on 96 Foundation Points.
